George Clooney Comes For Dinner
Being somewhat of a newbie at owning a house with storage space means that in addition to playing hide and seek and actually having places to hide, I’m also able to decorate seasonally. Whoo hoo! When we lived in our city condo, space was so tight that if it wasn’t something that was getting used year round, it didn’t make it through the front door. Besides, that precious closet space was occupied by shoes, shoes, and yes even more shoes! Now that I have space for things like spare bedding, Christmas lights and even fall decorations I have no excuses. So here’s my first stab, folks. We’re having a lot of family this year for Thanksgiving so I decided to start playing with some options that would work both for the holiday, as well as a fall dinner party, per my Fall bucket list.
So lets break it down! The table cloth I bought last year after the holidays at the Williams-Sonoma outlet for $39.99. Its normally $140, yikes!. I just love the contrast of the purple and orange for fall. The bamboo salt and pepper shakers were a cute find from One Kings Lane.
The glass candle holders were a score from Pier 1 for $3.50 a piece (schwing!) and I then found clusters of fall berry’s on twigs a Michael’s for $1.50. I pulled the pieces apart and then inserted them around the candle. I then took a small box of pine cones and mini-pumpkins (also from Michael’s)
And sadly George Clooney didn’t really come to dinner. At least not in my reality. However, at my faux dinner party we sat across from each other and I’m pretty sure he tried to play footsies with me! Oh, George!
The pine cones made fabulous place card holders and some ivory card stock does the trick for impromptu dinner guests. You weren’t really going to use that leftover resume paper, anyway. I’m half tempted to use all celebrity names at my next party, just to see who in the group thinks they most resemble David Beckham, ha!
Let me know how you think I did, or if you have any other suggestions on how I could up my fall decor game!
