Giving In To Fall, Five Items On My Fall “To Do” List

Don’t forget to enter our Hazel & Harlow necklace and t shirt giveaway!

Ok, ok so I admit it.  There is a crispness to the air that was absent just a few weeks ago and I have to say…I actually like it!  So, rather than lament the loss of my beloved summer (and poll access to boot), I’ve decided to embrace the seasonal change with open arms.  I took some time over the weekend to think about the coming months and what I would like to do and accomplish.  So here it is.  The five things I’ve decided to tackle during the coming season.

1) To go apple picking and make a home made apple pie.  A’ la mode of course! I’ve never been and this is THE year!

2) Tackle the sanding and painting of a certain end table I’ve been putting off.  If I wait too long I won’t have the benefit of doing it in the garage on a nice day.

3) Host a dinner party.  I’ve been lazy and haven’t had any of my peeps over in quite some time.  I miss them!

4) Finally finish Breaking Dawn, the last of the Twilight series.  I’m still holding out for Team Jacob (with the short hair of course) and am afraid to turn the page and see it turn out otherwise…

5) Find and buy the perfect pair of riding boots. Step 2, wear fabulous boots on a gorgeous Fall day.

Ralph Lauren Collection Iselin Boots via Zappos

So how about you?  Anything on your Fall list?  Did I miss anything other than watch a ton of college football, which I figured was a no brainer?

The biggest thing to do for the Fall is to find a job to begin my career. I spent my whole summer job searching and I haven’t had any luck. However, I hope the Fall will bring employment. No one ever warned me that post college graduate life can be a bit frustrating and finding a job isn’t easy as pie.

    1. Check out the pumpkin type drinks from Starbucks that everyone raves about yearly.
    2. Will pick up a couple fall scented sprays from Bath & Bodyworks
    3. Will give into the weather when we finally get our chill in the air.
    5. Will wear boots immediately if not sooner, and not wait until the season is practically over.
    5. Be fav & be proud. 🙂
    6. Will learn how to number. *lol*

I love your list and hope to see you in your new boots soon:)

I’m with you on the apple pie bandwagon. We made apple pie icecream this weekend and it was simply out of this world. I still have a few scoops in the freezer and have to ration it out (post will be up on Friday).

Right now I’m just trying to rest in the moment of Fall’s arrival. The air IS crispier and cleaner, and it is the perfect weather for walking to tea in leggings and sweaters. I’m focused on slowing down to take it all in.

    xoxo,

Apple pie is most definitely on my list, last Fall / Winter I made 12 apple pies, a few for us but most given to friends. It’s my fave pit to make, and everyone wants my recipe, but top secret of course!

We’re going to re-landscape the front yard over the next couple months. It needs it, most didn’t survive the brutal summer so we’re going another route with more drought & heat resistant foliage. I’m totally excited!

I am totally looking forward to going apple picking. In LA we don’t have anything that resembles a fall, but about two hours east of the city there is a tiny mountain range where it’s apple picking season 🙂

Finding the perfect pair of boots is also on my fall list, along with a halloween picnic with my friends, hiking on crunchy leaves with my dog, lots of pumpkin spice iced coffees and if all goes well this weekend, lots of apple pie baking!!!
And congrats to Jenny on her win!

We also host a wine tasting every fall….but I like your idea about just hosting more dinner parties…so much fun to hang out and try new recipes. Love it all!!
