As most of you know, the hubs and I set off for a mini getaway to Syracuse, NY this past weekend. His bestie, I’m sure he would love that I called him that, got hitched and they couldn’t have chosen a more perfect weekend to do so. The weather was beyond gorgeous and the explosion of fall colors that the changing leaves lent to the setting were spectacular! Now, I know why so many people plan their weddings in the fall! Check out the bride. Not only is she gorgeous, but couldn’t you just die over that backdrop? Next time around I’m getting married outside. Just kidding babe. Unless, you’re open to a renewal…in which case I’m totally serious. Just sayin’.

Before we watched our friends exchange their vows, we were able to fit in a little lunch and shopping action on Saturday. We left our lovely hotel, the Jefferson Clinton Hotel, which is located in Syracuse’s charming downtown
AND which had fully stocked coffee and liquor bars in the lobby thank you very much and made the few blocks walk to The Blue Tusk, a restaurant that was recommended to us by the super friendly front desk staff. Yet another reason I heart that hotel, besides the coffee and liquor bars…HA! Their recommendation was spot on. Our meals were both crazy delicious. I’m not kidding when I say that I would fly back for their scallop and bacon chowder alone! Oh, and did I mention that our hotel upgraded our room to a suite? Oh yeah…They did. We’re VIPs baby! Or they’re just a really cool hotel…
After we satiated ourselves, I manged to convince the hubs to let me pop in to at least one boutique…and boy did I choose a fabulous one! Bounce was chock full of gorgeous knit scarves, unique jewelry and lovely winter coats. You KNOW I had to buy a little something. Expect to see my acquisition in a future outfit post!
Speaking of outfit posts…Remember my mama’s vintage boots that I told you about the other day? Well, here they are in all their glory! I styled them with a plain white tee, a faux fur trimmed knit vest, Levis jeggings and a bead necklace thatmy partner in crime, Meg, brought me back from Tanzania that I wore as a bracelet.
The boots were totally worth the hassle of getting them off and on at airport security don’t ya think? I’m not sure the hubs would agree. Oh, well. Fashion before function right? HA!
