Weekend Fun: The Junior League of Tampa Holiday Gift Market

Happy Sunday lovelies! I hope everyone has had a beautiful weekend as we’ve had here in Tampa. The sun is shining away, yet the air is cool and crisp. If only this beautiful fall weather was slated to last…but, alas, we are due for 80 plus degree temps again next week. Le sigh. Oh well. I will  just have to relish it while we have it!

Meg told you all about her weekend plans yesterday and now it’s my turn! In addition to enjoying this amazing weather, I did some holiday shopping . It’s very uncharacteristic of me to start my shopping so early. I’m your classic Christmas procrastinator…but when Lauren Reilly of the Junior League of Tampa invited me to their annual Holiday Gift Market, she provided me with the perfect opportunity to mend my ways and actually get an early jump on my shopping.

I’m sure many of you are familiar with the Junior League, but in case you aren’t, it’s a service focused organization of women devoted to volunteerism and the betterment of their community. The Holiday Gift Market event that I attended was not only filled with well over a hundred fabulous vendors, but 100% of the proceeds are going to the League’s various causes which include foster care and literacy. Shopping with a purpose always puts a smile on my face!

When we arrived at the event, we were greeted with a beautifully decorated winter wonderland. You could just feel the holiday cheer permeating the air! The first booth that I stopped at, Laura Lively, turned out to be one of my favorites. Laura Lively is a jewelry distributor that sells gorgeous imported baubles. I found more than a few pretties that would make a lovely Christmas gift for yours truly. Santa…are you paying attention? Here are the lovely proprietresses modeling some of my favorite pieces!

In addition to my jewelry finds, I was elated to find the booth of one my favorite local children’s boutique’s, Seedlings. The dude instantly fell in love with this little guy. The Rody is a ride on toy that le toddler had a blast hopping around on. Guess what Santa just had to buy???

As I’m sure you can tell, I had a wonderful time and you can bet that I’ll be heading to the League’s Holiday Gift Market again next year! If you’re local, you still have a chance to check it out for yourself. The doors are open until 5:00 PM today!

Cute finds! Our holiday market is next weekend. Can’t wait. It’s killing me a bit though… this is the first year in several that the committee that puts on the event hasn’t reported to me, so I’ll be as surprised as everyone else at the new vendors and such.
