Black Swan Style (Inspired by now preggers Natalie Portman). Plus, a Christmas recap.

There is still time to enter our latest giveaway for a darling necklace!

Happy Monday lovelies! I hope y’all are recovering from your holiday hangovers! We had a wonderful Christmas around here! Santa was very good to the dude and he hasn’t stopped playing with his train table. It’s train time ALL the time…even more than before…if that’s possible.

After completely eradicating video games from our house a few years ago, I caved and got the hubs a PS3.

I don’t know who was more excited about his big gift, the hubs or le toddler. It was pretty funny watching him open it. The expression on his face was priceless. He made me promise not to publish the pictures though. HAHA! Although, video games drive me all kinds of bonkers, that darling hubs of mine has been workin’ his booty off in grad school this year and he deserved a fun surprise!

He surprised me too actually. Mama’s malfunctioning iPhone is a thing of the past. HOLLA!

Meg and I can now video chat on our iPhone 4s. Can I tell you how excited I am about that? Oh and Santa, a.k.a. my madre, must have been paying attention this past year as I lamented about my less than stellar photos, because I she got me my new baby..an SLR!

Get ready for better outfit posts people! I’m probably more psyched about it than you are. HAHA! My in laws also must have tapped into my wishes, because they gifted us with a brand new wild cherry red front loader washer and dryer set! I will no longer have to dry my loads twice and that will be sheer heaven, let me tell you!

I must not forget my bestie’s gift. Yours truly is the proud owner of a gorgeous House of Harlow 1960 necklace! And so begins my HOH collection…

Our family was incredibly blessed on the present front this year and I wanted to use my forum to thank my loved ones for their generosity, but, more importantly, I feel so lucky that we were able to spend lots of quality time together. There is NO worldly possession as great a gift as that! Putting together the toys Santa dropped off with the hubs, my lil’ sis and her boyfriend…Having a relaxing cuppa joe with the hubs before the dude got up…Watching my Nonnie’s eyes shine when we gave her our family photo…Marveling over the Christmas decorations at the Magic Kingdom with my mama, just like I used to when I was little…Having cocktails until the wee hours with my bestie…These were my favorite gifts this year! What were your favorites lovelies?

On a side note…As I sat here this morning reveling in my beautiful holiday, my copy of the January issue of Vogue caught my eye. Natalie Portman looks beyond stunning in her feature.

Update: I snagged this image from one of my favorite blogs Inspired Decorating

Of course, when does she NOT look stunning? I can’t wait to see her maternity style! In case you haven’t heard…She’s preggers and engaged! But, I digress….As I flipped through the rag and read about her Black Swan experience, I was again reminded how much I want to see that flick and just how much I big puffy heart tulle. I really must go see Black Swan STAT…if not just for the stunning costumes! There will forever be a little girl inside of me that wishes she could have been a ballerina. Even if that ship has sailed, I can still play dress up right?

Oh my gosh, this must have been a fabulous holiday!!!! I wanted to comment that:

    a) we got the same washer/dryer this year after our 1970s style one broke down and we have been SO happy with it, you’re gonna love it…

    b) SLR changed my life…I just need an external flash to complete me.

    c) I AM SO EXCITED TO REUNITE!!! Can we schedule an intimate dinner- like you, me, Monica, Meg & Melissa R.? That would make me so happy. When are you scheduled to come in? Or is that not known yet? Let’s pick a date and plan!!!

I’ve had some sort of Canon Rebel since 1999 (now, of course, the digital model) and have never been disappointed. You’ll love it!

Also, I was totally digging the whole style of Black Swan, but feel too much like a cupcake when I try to pull it off myself. I love these short skirts, but having been an athlete most of my life means I have muscular thighs that I prefer to cover!

What a great xmas! hehe yes it is futile to get between a man and his desire for video game systems. Be prepared to be a semi-widow at times! haha

If there was ever a prime example of the difference between hotness and beauty, then Natalie Portman is it. She is beautiful and classy and someone that if I were a man, I would deeply admire, which isn’t something you can say for a lot of starlets these days.

    Happy holidays!
