Sparkle and Sequin Skirts

sequin skirts

If you’ve been around here once or twice before, you probably know that I’ve got a pretty major thing for anything that sparkles. I’m basically willing to rock sequins year ’round, but for those of you who are a bit more sequin shy, the holidays are just the right time to bust them out! Sparkle always look right at home during the holidays. You’ll get nary a raised eyebrow this time of year when you head out for a special occasion glistening with sequins. In fact, a sequin piece that I don’t have and am really wanting to try out this year is a sequin skirt. You can bet I’ll be on the hunt for one, but in the meantime, I thought I would share some of my favorite examples of holiday sparkle! In fact, I’m prone to wear shorter hemlines during this time too. Hello skirts! So, let’s talk sequins, skirts and sequin skirts, for that matter, haha!

Tahari-ASL-LBD

A little black dress with a bit sparkle is always a home run…Just at touch of sequin details can make all the difference! Whether we’re talking sequin tops or sequin skirts, sequins are always welcome in my holiday style!

sequin skirts

In fact, when the sequins are a contrasting color, they’re really noticeable! I love the gold sequin sleeves on this holiday ready dress! Sparkle just instantly makes any piece holiday ready in this girl’s opinion…and sequin slaves make for a fun take on sparkle!

leather skirt

And a leather skirt would be a perfect partner for sequins too. I’m thinking fierce sequin stilettos would b killer with this one…but that’s just me! How will YOU be wearing skirts and sequins this holiday season…or even sequin skirts for that matter?!

For another glam holiday outfit idea, check out our metallic flit and flare dress look! It’s got everything a sparkle lover needs too. Just sayin’.

Totally dig wearing a white button down with these, and a blazer, too! Would make it appropriate for anytime, not just the fanciest night out. Rock it… and then post a pic. 🙂 xo

Julia would have a joy-gasm if I wore something like that.

Strange that my opinion of clothes is completely ruled by what my 5-year-old would think of it!

The sequins are undeniably fabulous, but I’m still stuck on layered, ruffled skirts.

Lady, you KNOW how I feel about pieces that are completely sequined! So fun and glitzy for the holidays. I completely agree; a white button-down would be the perfect accompaniment to one of these!

I love every last one of these. Unfortunately, even with tights, I can’t wear skirts this short–I was a college athlete and now a marathoner, so I have muscular thighs and I like skirts that hit a bit closer to the knee to mask them =)

The holidays are a perfect time to bring out the sparkle! I especially like the skirt from Michael Kors. I think that would pair nicely with a men’s style white shirt. Go for it!

Love these! Especially that chevron one. My concern isn’t short but that the sequins would catch on tights & snag them?? Not to say I wouldn’t buy one if I saw it in stores of course!

Hahaha I can do feathers and ruffles and bows and sparkly jewels, but for some reason all-over sequins make me feel like a seedy Vegas lounge singer. Maybe one day I’ll find a sequined piece that works. 🙂

I love sequin skirts! I saw some super cute ones at the J Crew outlet too! The menswear with sequins makes me think of Blake Lively’s fashion faux pas http://cocoperez.com/2010-11-05-blake-livelys-major-fashion-fail-at-realm-boutique-opening but I think as long as you don’t make her mistake of the WAY too oversized shirt you’ll be good!

I’m thinking I LOVE that idea. A crisp men’s shirt and that first sequined mini with some killer pumps would be a fab look. I’m not allowed to shop for myself anymore (well except a little after chrismas shopping) for a while. but a gal can dream of sequins till then
