Feeling Greek. Opa!

Before I get thick into things here, I thought I’d share with you a post Kristin and I co-wrote for the fab site Umrella’d.  If you have a spare minute, we’d love for you to check it out!

We all have our happy place.  You know, the place you conjure up when on a bad wintry day when you have gum on your shoe and you are somehow responsible for something that went terribly awry.  Perhaps so desperately awry that it somehow ends up on the Jay Leno monologue, just sayin’ , I may have heard that this is happened to a fellow or two once upon a time, and you just wish you could pack a bag and get away from it all.

Well, Greece is my happy place.  It’s where Floyd and I honeymooned (we’re points junkies and paid for only 3 nights out of 12!) and for us it was a beautiful country that we leisurely explored, eating our way along while basking in golden sunshine.  Doesn’t sound half bad right, especially to those of us stuck in this major storm?!

In an effort to integrate memories of Greece throughout my home, I’ve been thinking about ways to incorporate the classic Greek Key pattern in everyday accents. Here are a few things I’ve found but have yet to decide on any one item yet.

This bold green Greek Key patterned pillow from the Well Appointed House really pops!

A Horchow lamp provides a more subdued reminder.

A more light hearted take...

I'm really loving this light blue outdoor rug from Home Depot.

Using a gorgeous fabric like this one is another way I could create my own custom Greek Key accents.

So, how about it? Do you have a place you day dream about when stuck in the middle of a bad day?  Any great vacation spots that you’d love to go back to?  Thoughts on the Greek Key pattern?  Spill it!
