You just know I love going all out with a holiday themed tablescape. Like in the Fall when I pull out the pine cones and pretend George (as in Clooney) is coming for dinner (watch out Keibler, he’s mine!), or at Christmas when I get all crazy with my centerpieces. Easter is no exception. Although for this coming weekend, I wanted to do something that was fun, but didn’t feel to over the top. Here’s what I came up with for a laid back Easter dinner.
I thought that a Peep bouquet would be a cute way to distribute a little candy to adults and I could see really taking this to the next level with an entire basket and dozens of Peeps. Maybe next year. For now, I simply used kabob skewers inserted into the Peep and then placed into the jelly bean filled vase for support. Is it just me or do they look a little sad? I think that bottom one knows his days are numbered…
To give an extra little pop to ordinary white candles, I filled the holders around the candles about halfway with bright jelly beans. It took about 30 seconds and added such a festive look to the table.
Finally I placed one of these glitter eggs at each place setting. I picked up these fun eggs with Kristin during our T.J.Maxx shopping excursion in February and love them!
And that’s all there is to it. I think this table is perfect for a quiet laid back Easter dinner, don’t you? Although, with Jake in tow it will probably be anything but quiet! Anyone else going all out for Easter decorating? Do tell!
