Fabulous Foyers

You always want what you don’t have.  Stinks, huh? I think that’s why I often daydream about deep foyers and mudrooms.  I love my house. but those are two things that our floor plan is lacking. You might recall that we have a perfectly lovely entryway that looks like this:

But because our front door opens right against a straight wall there is no room for a bench or chair for shoelace tying.  I love the molding that we added (click here for the DIY) and the grey blue paint against some of Floyd’s black and white photos, but I still think there are ways I can take it to the next level.  Perhaps a carpet runner with some pattern? Or a thin lucite console table that wouldn’t take up much space? What do  you think?

While I start hunting for the perfect accessories I will be daydreaming of deep foyers and a place to set my keys!

Do you have a foyer or the same design issue as me?  Anyone else out there found a way to jazz up a flat wall?  Do share!

p.s. Have you linked up your styles posts to Monday Mingle yet? We’re giving away a gorgeous set of bangles this week!

I like the idea of adding a thin console table, that would look great!
