When I saw a recipe for Rice Krispie treats using candy, I thought why not use Halloween candy? These goodies would be a great use of any left over Halloween candy and they’re easy enough to involve children. Jake is all about “helping” right now and given he has little access to sweets, he was beyond thrilled to be a part of the process. I first melted 2 Tbsp. of butter and a bag of mini-marshmallows before getting him in on the action. We then added 6 cups of our favorite breakfast cereal.
Next came the candy. We used about a cup each of candy corn and M&M’s.
My happy taste tester!
Pumpkin and ghost cookie cutters to make the treats even more festive!
These are so delicious and easy! And I plan on raiding Jake’s trick-or-treating stash to see what other variations we might come up with post-Halloween!
