Easy Kids Thanksgiving Table

If you know me in real life, you know domesticity isn’t my middle name. I’m much more comfortable styling an outfit versus a tablescape. So, when I told my mom that I wanted to put together an easy, yet cute kids Thanksgiving table, I think she fell out of her chair. My mom has been trying to get me to tap into my homemaking skills for years now without much luck. I blame my sudden interest in decor on Pinterest. It’s hard to not want to try your hand at DIY projects and decorating with so much inspiration out there!

My desire to create came at a great time because we’ve partnered with Cost Plus World Market to bring you some Thanksgiving decorations ideas and first up isย  my easy kids Thanksgiving table. After I spotted some daring melamine turkey plates at Cost Plus World Market, I knew that was where I wanted to start. Keeping with the fall perfect color palette, I dropped a gold table runner, earthy red napkins, raffia to fashion my own napkin rings (I just tied two colors of raffia in a bow and VOILA…DIY napkin rings) , glitter leaves and an apothecary jar into my online cart.

Once home I put some fabric artichokes along with a few real apples in my apothecary jar to create an easy Thanksgiving centerpiece. I love the way real elements look alongside store bought pieces. My mom also had some little turkey clips on hand that were the perfect, kid-friendly, finishing touch for my raffia napkin rings. After that, I was almost done…After setting the table, however, I realized that the turkey plates looked a little lost, so I used some plain white plates as chargers and they did a good job anchoring the turkey plates.

See how easy it is to create an easy kids Thanksgiving table?
