Monday Mingle: Why You Could Use a Stylist

If you’re passionate about fashion, you may think you don’t need a stylist. You have a blast creating your own looks right? You probably have a signature style and love it. That doesn’t mean there’s no place in your life for a little help! I speak from experience. I recently had the opportunity to go shopping with a stylist here in Tampa at the International Plaza Mall for FREE. Yes, that’s right, the session was totally free.

International Plaza has an amazing promotion going on right now though March 29th where anyone can sign up for a styling session with a professional stylists through their complimentary Get Your Style On program.

If you’re in the area, I urge you to make your own appointment. And even if you aren’t in the Tampa Bay areas, do a little research and look for stylists in  your neck of the woods. Give it one session and I bet you’ll be sold. How’s why you could use a stylist…You all know how much I love fashion…And I’m definitely not afraid to try new looks, but sometimes it takes another person’s perspective to bring you even further out of your comfort zone.

My stylist was the lovely Tasha from Your Style Secret. I immediately knew from her killer ensemble and warm smile that we were kindred spirits. She asked me where I normally shopped and I told her about my regular haunts. She then asked if I minded going to a store I don’t typically think about going to, so I could see what else is out there. We ended up at Dilliard’s, where in no time flat, she helped me put together several resort wear worthy outfits for an upcoming Arizona getaway that I’m going on with the hubs.

She immediately honed in on what top of pieces I felt most confident, flowy silhouettes and politely listened when I expressed that I didn’t love something, but respectfully delivered her case for why I may want to reconsider…and you know what? I did! I almost passed on a fitted striped top that looks darling with the white wide leg trousers that I had already fallen in love with, but she made me feel so great in that top, that I went for it after all.

So, if you feel like your wardrobe could use a bit of a jump start, why not go on a little shopping trip with a stylist and see what he or she suggests…You just might find the inspiration you’ve been looking for! And now that you’ve seen what fashionable things have been happening in my world, head on over to Momtrends and Thirty Something Fashion to see what they have been up to. And don’t forget to add your own fashion focused post below!

I’ve worked with stylists a few times, it’s like having a super honest bff with good taste who doesn’t have other responsibilities so she can go shopping whenever you want. Just lunch is basically always on you!

Kristin I love the last outfit – the white wide legged pants make a nice change to skinnies for a classic Breton top/denim jacket combo! I was given a personal shopper & voucher gift once but it wasn’t so great… I’ve never worn one of the items I kept, returned another and do wear the third! You were lucky to get someone really good, she chose well 🙂

    Thank you for hosting!
