Easy Classic & Modern Makeup Looks

This post is sponsored by Target.

When it comes to makeup, I don’t go crazy. I know what I like, and I don’t often veer away from that. It’s not that I don’t love makeup—I do. I just have my go-tos that I have trouble putting down. And it also doesn’t mean I don’t love to make a statement. In fact, I have a large and in charge lipstick collection filled with bright, bold colors—but that’s about as crazy as I get. And I’m OK with that. I leave it to the pros to get really creative with my makeup. So, in a sense, I guess you could say I’m not much of a rule breaker beauty wise.

I did, however, decide to branch out and get a little more creative with my eye makeup this season. While I don’t typically devote much time to my eyes since my lips are usually the focus, that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve some attention. So I set out on a mission at Target to pick up some new shades for my holiday-ready eyes. I found just what I needed in an e.l.f. Elegant Eyes gift set! It was filled with eye shadow duos that are perfect for both classic and modern looks. By the way, did you know that Target has free shipping and returns until 12/25? Score!

Now you know I couldn’t shop for makeup without picking up some new lip colors, because I’m, well, obsessed. Haha! So I snagged a Classic Red from Pixi and a more modern burgundy hue from Sonia Kashuk’s line. The red was a perfect partner for my bronzy nude duo, while the burgundy Lustrous Shine Lip Crayon played well with the charcoal gray duo. And did I mention that I also picked up an e.l.f. makeup brush gift set? Any makeup-lovin’ girl appreciates new brushes! Am I right?

So let’s talk about how I created my classic and modern looks. You don’t think I spent more than five minutes on them, do you? Because I totally didn’t. A quick application of tinted moisturizer, blush, my new shadows and lippies, and I was all set. If you’re makeup challenged, you’re going to love these duos. Simply swipe the darker shade on your lids and stop there, or highlight by swiping the lighter shade on a bit above your lids. The final step is a generous coat of mascara, and you’re good to go!

Love that red lip color on you! Had no idea Sonia Kashuk has lip color since Target closed down all it’s stores in Canada 🙁

I believe too for the most impact in a short amount of time, lips is a definite way to go!
