Adding Spring to Your Winter Look

Kristin

As much as I love a good monochromatic look, by January I’m kind of sick of all the grey and black I’ve been rockin’. I mean I wear a LOT of grey and black once fall hits. Haha! So, I’m a big fan of adding some spring inspiration to my winter look once I get to the point where I just can’t put on another dark piece. And what reminds you of spring more than flowers? Adding a subtle floral print is a fun way to perk up your winter looks without looking totally inappropriate. Add some pretty color to the equation and it’s hard to do anything but smile when you’re wearing an outfit as cheerful as that.

This time, my floral inspiration came in the form of the J. Jill Compassion Fund Scarf. Not only is it the prettiest most delicate print, but it supports the J. Jill Compassion Fund which helps women in need. (You can find out more about this wonderful initiative HERE.) I paired my floral print with a lovely lavender J. Jill poncho that I scored last summer (more can be found here), cuffed skinnies and fringe booties.

It may be Monday, but I’m feeling anything but blue in my spring inspired winter look! So, the next time the dreary winter weather has brought you a case of the doldrums, try adding some spring inspiration to your ensemble. I bet you’ll perk up in no time!

And now that you’ve seen what I’ve been wearing, head over to our Monday Mingle cronies, Momtrends and Thirty Something Fashion, to see what they’ve been styling! You can find the linky over at Momtrends this week.

Ha! I never get tired of black and grey but a nice pop of color is nice change. Love this look on you!
