So, just like we love dressing for our favorite holidays, we love using holiday themed beauty products too. The scents, the colors…we love it all! It’s just another way to add to the Valentine’s Day fun this time of year! And seeing as we’re clearly feeling the conversation heart love (did you catch our conversation heart brownies yesterday?), I thought it would be a great time to share this pretty in pink DIY body scrub.
We’re all about making our own beauty products and regularly use homemade body scrubs to exfoliate our skin. It’s especially important to get rid of that dry scaly skin in the winter when the weather’s had such a drying effect on it. And did I mention that this scrub is moisturizing too? Score!
2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup almond oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup conversation hearts
3 drops Vitamin E oil (optional)
1. In a medium mixing bowl, add the sugar and both oils. Stir until well blended.
2. Add the vanilla extract and vitamin E oil (optional) and stir until well incorporated.
3. In a food processor, pulse the conversation hearts almost to a fine powder and add to the scrub. Stir well.
4. Transfer to an airtight container.
** This exfoliating DIY body scrub will keep for 2-3 months in a sealed container at room temperature. And on a side note…It would make a great Valentine’s Day gift for your favorite ladies!
