Yogurt is a staple in our house. Literally we all eat a ton of the stuff and Jake is probably the biggest yogurt eater of the bunch. Some night he even asks for yogurt with “crunchies” aka granola instead of a real dinner. I knew you could freeze yogurt into pops and after reading a few recipe variations came up with this take on banana yogurt pops using ingredients I had on hand.
The banana yogurt pops can easily serve double duty. The ingredients are healthy breakfast staples so why not surprise the family with frozen banana yogurt pops for a fun take on breakfast. The taste those is rich and sweet so they even work for dessert or a mid-afternoon snack on a nice warm day.
Banana Yogurt Pops
(Makes 3 large pops)
6 oz Greek banana yogurt (3 yogurt tubes)
1/2 Banana sliced thin.
1/3 Cup granola
Directions: Mix together Greek yogurt, a healthy splash of milk and a tbsp. of honey. Stir together. It should be able to pour into the popsicle molds. Pour into about 1/3 of the mold. Add a few banana slices and a layer of granola. Place the sticks in and finish pouring the yogurt mixture to the top of mold. Freeze for several hours. Remove from freezer about 15 minutes before eating or run under warm water to release from mold. Enjoy!
As you can see they were a huge hit around my house and I’m sure they would be yours! There are so many ways you can take these banana yogurt pops and change them up. They would be great with some chocolate chunks or as Jake requested, in a cherry flavor.
