What to Wear While Traveling

Travel Look

If there is one thing I’m crazy passionate about, its travel. From little weekends to large vacations, I can’t get enough of exploring and hearing what everyone else is doing. I’m literally the annoying friend who wants to get coffee when you get back and hear all about it. Like. Every. Single. Detail.

I’ve been asked what I think are the best looks for a “plane day” so since I was headed to New Orleans I thought I’d share my current travel look. These photos were literally snapped as I was headed out and on my way!

Travel Look

I tend to like to wear jeans and flats on flights. I just think denim is a great fabric for when you are cold in an airport or (gasp!) if something gets spilled. Denim hides a lot! Flats are easy going through security and let you walk briskly (or run like a mad woman) when you are running late. On this particular trip my flight ended up being a delayed a few hours and I was grateful for the cute and comfortable Tory Burch flats.

Big Travel Bag

I also love a big bag when I am headed out on a flight. This recent Stitch Fix purchase is great. It’s cute but light and also fits my laptop. Score! I also like to be able to throw in a wrap, snacks and water all in one.

Casual Flats

Since I was headed straight to my hotel I didn’t add a blazer to this look but when I travel and go straight to a meeting, a basic black blazer completes the outfit seamlessly.

Travel Look

That’s my travel look breakdown. What do you like to wear when you travel? Am I spot on or way off base?

Shop the Look: Denim skinny jeans / Bag / Tory Burch Caroline flats (similar, I picked mine up at Nordstrom Rack but they are no longer available that I can find online)

Denim is great for traveling on a long trip because it is comfortable and easy to get stains out of!
