It is no secret that I have a weakness for black and white striped clothing. I can’t help myself! So of course these edgy stripes were a no brainer when I opened up my Stitch Fix box this month to find my favorite combo. I even teased my Stitch Fix stylist that she is putting black and white striped tops in there knowing full well I can’t resist.
This top feels a little different though with its peek-a-boo cut out and mesh detail going down the arms. It’s fun to dress it up to be a little more edgy and would be great to wear to a concert or party. I’d also love to tuck it into a pencil skirt for a more chic vibe.
For this edgy stripes look, I paired the Stitch Fix Loveappella top with my grey H&M ripped jeans (under $20!). My Steve Madden black lace up boots and bright red lipstick were the perfect way to keep the tough girly girl vibe going. I bought these boots three years ago and while I only wear them occasionally, sometimes they are just the prefect look. Oh and they are really comfortable!
Floyd joked that this would be the perfect outfit to wear to a Cure concert. Sadly the reason that was funny was because we had tickets to the Cure a few weeks prior. Only I got sent on a work trip and had to miss the show, which of course was amazing. Or so I heard. Had I been able to go, this look would have been just right! Of course no “edgy meets girl-next-door” look would be complete without at least one sweet detail. For me, my Kate Spade bow earrings are that detail. I just love them and they are definitely a preppy sweet detail. Stay tuned tomorrow for the rest of what was in this month’s Stitch Fix unboxing or you can watch the video here. Love me an unboxing vid!
