How to Make A Baileys Martini

The holidays are still lingering in my house. After a wonderful holiday season with the boys, I’m just not ready to let go of all the twinkly lights and warm glow. It was our first year where both kids were REALLY into it and also each a little more self-sufficient. Having two kids born in December means that I’ve had a newborn or a one-year-old almost non-stop for the past 5 years of holidays. I too was very ready to kick back and truly revel in the holiday.

One little way I like to soak it up is by making the grown-ups a cocktail where we can sit by the tree and sip and chat. My husband is a huge Baileys fan so this Baileys Martini is right up his ally. This can be served year round of course, but right now it is an especially fun way to use up those candy canes hanging about the house.

Tip to Easily Impress Guests! For peppermint rimmed glasses, before pouring your martini finely crush candy cane or peppermint candy in a plastic bag. I place the bag in-between a dish towel and use a meat mallet to break it up. Place crushed peppermint on small plate. Using nutella or marshmallow fluff rim the glass with a thin layer. Then dip the glass rim into the peppermint. Baileys Martini

Here’s hoping that as you either enjoy these final days of a home decorated for the holidays, or prep for New Year’s festivities, that things are still merry and bright.
