I know we’ve embraced the new year after a somewhat bumpy 2016, but there a few things from last year that still make us smile! Let’s talk fashion. That always perks me up. Haha! When I look back on the outfits we shared last year, what struck me is how timeless they were. Sure, we love a good trend around here, but, more often than not, our goal is to incorporate trends in a subtle way so the ensembles can be worn time and time again. And being that I was in a nostalgic kinda mood, I thought it would be fun to round up some of our favorite looks from 2016. Hopefully they will inspire your style in the new year too!
Poncho…My love for ponchos has been going strong for a few seasons now and it doesn’t seem to be waning any time soon. I still regularly turn to my poncho collection. And this chunky knit number is perfect for winter wear!
Little Black Dress…Nothing is as timeless as a LBD. Not only do they never go out of style, but they can be worn a million and one different ways. This long sleeved version of Megan’s would make for a fabulous Valentine’s Day outfit no?!
Denim Shirt…Just like the little black dress, the denim shirt is a classic piece that every girl should have in her closet. I rocked it with leggings and moccasins here. It’s basically my busy mama uniform, and one of my favorite looks, because it couldn’t be any comfier, while still being cute!
Statement Scarf…Scarves can make just as big an impact on your look as jewelry can and Megan’s fun printed statement scarf perfectly sets off her cognac jacket and boots combo. It instantly elevated a chic, but simple look!
Knee High Boots…You gotta love it when you find a pair of high heeled boots that are as comfortable as they are chic. I rocked my knee high boots with a tunic, jeggings and statement necklace, but they would be just as gorgeous with an oversized sweater and leggings for instance, this season!
So, as we get ready to rock a new year, I hope our favorite looks from last year help you with your 2017 outfit planning!
