It’s coming…The dreaded “I’m hungry” whine that happens about a thousand times a day this time of year. I know my kids aren’t the only ones who seem to want to snack all day long during the summertime right? While I certainly don’t feed them non-stop from sun up to sun down, I do like to have fun snacks on hand so they can help themselves when the hunger bug strikes.
Luckily, we’ve featured quite a few summer ready snacks over the years, so I don’t have to look too far for snacking inspiration this season. No Bake Peanut Butter and Jelly Oatmeal Balls…Energy balls are all the rage and they’re great because they appeal to kiddos and adults alike. By making your own, you know exactly what’s going into them which I really love! Plus, you don’t have to bake them. Score!
Cherry Peanut Power Bars…And along the same vein, you could make your own power bars too. This energy bar recipe came about thanks to the ingredients we had on hand. You could easily switch some of them out according to your pantry stash too! Think almonds instead of peanuts or cranberries instead of cherries.
Nutella Apple Snack…I’ve yet to find any way that I serve Nutella that my kids don’t immediately gobble up. So, I try to get the most bang for my back and serve it up with fruit when I can. This apple snack is perfect for a DIY setup. All you have to do is give them apple slices, Nutella and tasty toppings to dip their slices in!
