Back to School Prep with CVS

Whether the kids realize it or not, us Moms are in the throws of back to school prep while they are still blissfully running through sprinkles and chasing fireflies. Both of those activities have been happening a lot around my house this summer as we enjoy these final days before Jake starts Kindergarten. Sure he’s gone to pre-school these past few years but this is the first year that we will be riding the bus and heading off into the elementary school sunset. This guy is SO ready and excited to take on Kindergarten!

Thankfully I have a great Mom crew who has been helping ME get prepared. They’ve had lots of insider info to share, including where to find everything you need to get the school year started. CVS is one of those go-to places where you can check off so much on your “Back To School” prep list! Here are just a few ways we’ve been using CVS for a successful school year ahead.

School Registration Prep with MinuteClinic

When we received the pretty thick packet of registration forms one thing was loud and clear. Our school wants to make sure each and every child possible is up to date on their vaccinations. The MinuteClinic is a great place to get that check-up and any necessary vaccines for the whole family. I love using my CVS Pharmacy app to make MinuteClinic appointments. Did you know you can even check which location has the shortest wait time AND it will even hold your place in line while you get there! Nothing could be more efficient for a Mom on a tight schedule!

Keeping Ourselves Healthy

Going back to school also means entering the dreaded germ zone once again. Things like colds spread faster than you can say “A-choo”! Anything I can do to keep those germs away is on my prep list. CVS Pharmacy has a great line of products to help. My favorites are the CVS Health Children’s Air Shield Immunity Support Gummies and the Antiseptic Hand Sanitizer Spray. I’ve already been using these during our summer travels (the spray is a lifesaver at places like amusement parks!) so it’s part of our regular routine once school begins.

I’ve also been using the CVS Health Liquid Bandage Spray (great for scrapes!) and the CVS Health Children’s Pain Relief a lot lately. My boys have clearly been attacking summer head on and show no plans of slowing down into fall!

Healthy Lunch Box Items

I’m no stranger to packing lunches. Finding healthy items that are easy to pop in the lunchbox is ideal. The CVS Gold Emblem Abound line has become our go-to for summer camp lunches and I plan on taking that healthy habit right into the school year. The Veggie Chips and Rice Pop Clusters are Jake’s favorites and take the stress out of making lunch before I’ve even had my morning coffee.

After School Snacks

Can you guess the first thing Jake and all his friends want when they walk in the door. Nope it’s not my dream of a long drawn out discussion on their day. It’s SNACKS! The CVS Gold Emblem Abound line also has several items that make the perfect after school snacks such as the Cherry & Cashew Dark Chocolate Nut Bar or the White Cheddar Heavenly Light Popcorn. I can only hope by making him sit still at the table for a snack I might get a little detail on his day before he is off again to play outside!

Final Tip!

Remember to download the CVS Pharmacy app. Between the MinuteClinic, ExtraCare coupons and CVS Curbside pick-up it quickly became one of my most used apps!

These are just a few ways CVS Pharmacy handles the back to school prep. These Mom crew tips are truly helping me feel more confident as we navigate the waters ahead of elementary school.
