If you know us girls here at Take Time for Style in real life you know that Megan and I are all about college football…namely SEC football. We both went to the University of Florida and are Gator girls through and through. So, fall Saturdays are kind of our thing. We throw together some tasty food, serve some kickin’ cocktails and settle in for a fun filled, game watchin’ afternoon. And our husbands are just as die hard as us. While mine got his MBA from UF, Megan’s honey graduated from, gasp, the University of Tennessee. So, you can say that only one half of her house was very happy last week. Bwah!
Since I know many of you are probably big college football fans too, I thought I would round up some of our favorite game day ready appetizers. Because, I don’t know how it is in your house, but tailgating is just as important as the game itself in mine. And even if we aren’t watching the game in person at the Swamp, you can bet that we’re “tailgating” at home. Haha! So, here are some of my our favorite game day appetizer recipes. Serve one of these up at your next game day celebration, sit back and wait for the complements!
Game Day Appetizer Recipes
Potato Skin Footballs…If ever there was ever a crowd pleaser app, it’s these potato skins. They’re just delicious and a cute, on theme, addition to any game day spread.
Slow Cooker Sweat and Sour Meatballs…I’m all for anything that I can throw in the slow cooker. It just makes life easier and you don’t have to sacrifice any flavor with this recipe.
Salted Caramel Football Krispie Treats…Ok, these are more dessert than appetizer, but I just had to include them in my game day recipe roundup. They’re so darn cute!
So, what are some of your favorite appetizer recipes? I’m always looking to add new game day fare to my go-to tailgating recipe list! And if you need even more ideas yourself, check out our pumpkin brownies. Yum!
