How to Style a Poncho

If you’ve visited our site in the fall and winter months the past few years, you know that there is one enduring piece that I can’t seem to quit. No, I’m not talking about moccasins, although those apply too, bwah! I’m talking about ponchos. I have been building up quite a poncho collection and while I haven’t picked up a new one for this fall yet, it’s coming…Trust, me it’s coming! In the meantime, until I can share my new poncho score(s), I thought I would share some of my favorite poncho outfits from the past. They’re all timeless enough to bring out this season too in my humble opinion. So, let’s talk about…

How to Style a Poncho

Skinny jeans…This is the epitome of a comfy, casual look that still has a pulled together vibe. We have a fun printed poncho, a tee, skinnies and ankle boots. It doesn’t get much easier than that folks. I wore this particular outfit for a winery visit. It was just perfect to sit outside and sip on a glass of red in. I was oh so was comfy and warm!

Leather leggings…The volume of a poncho calls for more fitted bottoms and leather leggings are just the ticket if you’re looking for a dressed up poncho look. What I love about leather leggings, in particular my Spanx faux leather leggings, is that while I look dressed up, I’m completely and totally comfortable. And that, my friends, is the combo this mama lives for. Haha!

Short Sleeved Tee…It’s actually not even officially fall yet, so a lightweight poncho may be just what you need. You can comfortably rock one with a short sleeved tee and even open toed shoes if the weather calls for them. We’re definitely still rockin’ open toed footwear here in the sunshine state and probably will be for a while  yet!

So, those are my thoughts on how to style a poncho. How will you be wearing them this season?
