School is officially in full swing! Here in Maryland we didn’t start Kindergarten until Mid-September while Kristin’s kids started in early August. That’s quite a difference! And since we both have Kindergartner’s in the mix it has been a huge change for our households. And while we of course added a few back-to-school items to their closets, we both agree that the big push is updating kids fall clothes.
Updating Kids Fall Clothes
When you first start school you are still faced with really hot days. It’s all shorts and t-shirts and sundresses. But now that the temperatures are cooling, its time to really go through closets and take stock of what our kids need for the coming season.
All our kids like to be really comfortable at school, and of course we want them to also look cute. Gymboree has so many great options and our kiddos have been wearing their Gymboree finest on the playground for years. Here are a few of their favorite looks that we pulled together for updating kids fall clothes.
Let’s start with our only girly girl in the mix. She loves a mix of pink and purple and this look is perfect for days when you need to start with a sweater and then take off a layer in the afternoon. Also, a lot of schools wants all children to wear shoes they can comfortably play in. The pink sparkly high-top sneakers are great for recess and look adorable!
Both of us have boys who are tough to size in pants. Having a thin waist means you need clothing that will either cinch or is fitted. These camo sweats look AND fit great on our Dude! A mom’s dream! And how cute is this light sweater and monster sneakers.
Jake was pumped about starting Kindergarten. He was that kid who walked in confidently on day one leaving the only tears to mama. Well maybe not just mama. Max definitely sobbed that first day he saw his big brother board the bus. His time is coming soon enough, don’t be in such a rush little guy.
They both love their Gymboree clothes. These biker pants that Jake are wearing again are perfect for slim fitting boys. I love that they look like jeans but still have an easy waist and fitted cuff. Plus the go great with both tees like the one he has on, or sweaters.
And of course Max is my little wild monster so a speedy shirt and monster shoes are perfect. He is also growing so fast I can barely keep up. Having pants that work cuffed or not cuffed means quality pants that will last through winter.
I’m linking to several other items we both picked up and love for updating our updating kids fall clothes. But first, we interviewed our kindergartners one month in on what they really think of school!
