How to Wear Statement Sleeves

Now that the cool weather is officially here, I’ve been having so much fun bringing my sweaters out to play. In fact, I just picked up a few new ones to help round out my winter wardrobe. There are some trends I’ve been really wanting to try out and a sweater with statement sleeves was high on the list. I decided to style this pretty cream number just in time for our trip with Kristin’s family to Georgia for Thanksgiving. It was perfect for an afternoon of shopping and wine tasting, even with our brood of kiddos in tow.

Wearing statement sleeves, especially with a sweater can feel tricky. The temperature  has to be just right so that you don’t need a coat. Shoving bulky sleeves into a coat is not exactly my jam. Adding a wrap to the cool 50 degree temperatures was just perfect. This sweater is from Shopbop and has fun tie sleeves. It’s a great weight and the best part is that there is a huge sale going on right now. Make sure to head over and stock up!

Given that the silhouette of the sleeves and the body of the sweater are more free flowing, I paired it with my distressed Blank denim jeans and favorite riding boots. I just love this time of year when I get to pull out all my boots, but things aren’t too crazy cold yet.

Isn’t the red barn just too cute?! It made the perfect backdrop for photos (always a sucker for a great backdrop), but it’s also a favorite local winery of Kristin’s so we got to sip on some vino and enjoy some quality time too. It was pretty much our perfect afternoon!

  1. This looks so pretty on you! Thus far, I haven’t been able to pull off the statement sleeve trend, but I continue to try on different variations to see if I can find one that looks right one me…! Fingers crossed.
