10 Spring Break Destinations for Families

1. Disney World (Orlando, Florida)

As Floridians, we grew up going to Disney World. But for families around the country this is a great trip! Spring is the perfect time of year to make the trek. The weather is ideal and a welcome relief from the chilly days of winter. Our kids instantly fall under Mickey’s magic from the moment they arrive. There are many things to do and amenities all close to the theme parks. From Disney Springs, a shopping and restaurant area with entertainment, to amazing pools to relax in, there is something for everyone to enjoy!

2. Durham, North Carolina

We fell in love with this city last summer. It has SO much to offer families. Our favorites include an adventure filled day at the Museum of Life and Science, a baseball game with the Durham Bulls, and several farm to table restaurants. Here are all the details of where to stay, eat and have an all around great time.

3. Blue Ridge Mountains, North Georgia

With a family getaway nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains, this is an area of the country that is perfect as a family friendly spring break destination. Renting a cabin is easy thanks to VBRO and AirBnB! We recommend staying in the North Georgia area like the Highlands or a cabin close to Ashville, NC if the Biltmore is on your list. Pretty outdoor hikes and parks, farms, and relaxing in the fresh mountain air is perfect to unwind and take a break from school. Grandfather Mountain is a must!

4. New York City, NY

Of course New York City has to make this list! We love visiting this city and it has so much to offer families. If you are taking children for the first time, on your spring break list we recommend some of the key sites such as Central Park, The Statue of Liberty and the Moma. These will make great reports back to friends at school! Some of the beaten path treasures include a visit to the DUMBO neighborhood and carousel, the New York Public Library, or even a visit to our favorite kids podcast live, the Story Pirates!

5. Arizona

We’re huge fans of the cool Arizona desert landscape. Plus, with its warm temps it’s ideal for spring break! Kids will love experiencing the desert firsthand and there is so much to do. Highlights include the red rocks of Sedona, hiking the Grand Canyon, and lots of golf and poolside fun. We personally loved our visit to the White Stallion Dude Ranch just outside of Tucson.
