It's Champagne Saturday and we couldn't be happier! Meg flew into Tampa yesterday and of course we stayed up super late chatting the night away. Don't you just love long weekends with friends!? Today we're sporting casual looks and drinkin' OJ as we are off to go run errands in preparation for tonight's Sex and The City 2 par-tay and viewing! What Meg's wearing: Anthropologie button seeds striped tank, Gap jean capris, Anthropologie earrings, Sam Edelman sandals (purple!) What Kristin's wearing: J Crew sundress, Tommy Hilfiger espadrilles, Alex Keller necklace. Have fab plans for the weekend or just...

Tanzanian Safari, the Adventure of a Lifetime

It's been almost two weeks since I've been back from Tanzania which means this post is long overdue. It's just so hard to put into words such an amazing experience and I am still pinching myself in disbelief that I was given the opportunity to explore such a place! Hopefully, between my words and Floyd's photos, I can share a fraction of the beauty. I left off last week with our day trip to Zanzibar, and for those like me who are not well versed in African geography, I've inserted a map (and who knows, this...

Zanzibar! Something Worth Writing About….and a Giveaway!

Happy Friday! It's been a few days and I've almost recovered from my two weeks in Tanzania, minus the giant piles of mail and laundry that I'm purposely ignoring. One of the great places we were able to visit while we were away was Zanzibar. Who knew that the island was only a cheap 20 minute flight away?! Clearly I need a geography refresher! We were only able to squeeze in one day, but oh what a day! From our little "puddle jumper" window we were able to see the coral reefs that surround the island...

Africa: A Lifetime of Lessons Learned in Two Weeks

Helloooo my dahlings! You might not have realized, but I have been long gone for the past two weeks and I am so thrilled to be back among you that I want to give everyone a big ol' bear hug! You know, the kind where you are squeezed so tight that you can barely breathe. Consider yourself hugged! A huge thank you to all our dear guest bloggers and to Kristin who had to hold down the fort solo. Knowing our readers were in such safe hands allowed me to relax and have that extra...

Guest Post: Photography Made Simple!

Today we have a guest post from none other than my hubby, Floyd. In addition to putting up with my day-to-day craziness (no small feat!), he's also an amazing photojournalist for CNN and has his own photography website (YarmuthPhotography.com). He's often the eyes behind many of my post's photos and recently has been teaching me some tricks of the trade. Today he's here to share some quick tips on how to make your photos stand out. ~ Megan Back in the day when Megan and I were dating, her photos were always either chopping off my...

A Guest Post by Theta Mom & A Gorgeous Giveaway to Go With It

In celebration of Mother's Day, this month we will be featuring a few of our favorite mama bloggers. First up is Heather from Theta Mom. She is taking the blogging community by storm with the sensational space that she's set up at which mommies can comfortably dialogue. When Kristin asked me to guest post for BonBon Rose Girls, I jumped at the chance because I adore this blog! I enjoy my visits here because I always get my fashion fix, accessory advice, and the latest trend posts and just feel like a “girl” again. Being a...

Guest Post: Sangria Packs a Sweet Punch

One of my closest friends and all around partners-in-crime, Kate, is amazing in the kitchen. Often when I host dinner parties, she's my go-to for coming early and getting the place in order with apps and cocktails. Today she's here to tell us all about how to make an ol' classic, Sangria, and just in time for summer! I was the recipient of this Sangria last weekend and let me tell you, it's crazy good! So without further adieu...

Champagne Saturday: Hats Off to the Kentucky Derby!

It's Saturday, and not just any Saturday but it's the Kentucky Derby! The time honored tradition of horse races in good ol' Louisville, Kentucky, that lets face it is more about the hats and mint juleps than it is those gorgeous horses! I was lucky enough to go to the Derby a few years ago. I was excited to wear my hat and see the Derby in person, but once there I was blown away by the amazing hats and outfits all the women were wearing. Its enough to bring the southern belle out of...

A Friendly Lesson in the Art of Souffle’

Last week I had a great mid-week visit from my good friend Becca. It was a gloomy day on the outside, but on the inside we were all red wine and giggles! Becca is taking a pastry course on her weekends and she means some serious business when it comes to the kitchen. While she was visiting she taught me something that has been on my "bucket list" for several years, (pause for the drum roll) it was the art of making a souffle'! I must say that it wasn't overly complicated. The tricky part...

NYC Favorite Spots. So Many Sites, So Little Time!

As you might have read in yesterday's post, we are back from NYC and have had a few days to kick back, rest our poor feet from those super high heels, and reflected on our favorite moments. It just so happened that I was in town longer than most due to work, so I not only got to meet up with Kristin, but was also able to end the visit with Floyd. While spare moments were few, I tried my best to squeeze in as much action as I could. It was just enough time...
