Popping the Cork: Champagne Cocktails

Champagne Cocktails

Hi everyone! It's Jackie from Jackie Fogartie Events. I am beyond thrilled to be contributing to the Bon Bon Rose Girls blog. When I first got involved in the wide world of blogging almost 4 years ago, Bon Bon Rose was one of the first blogs I fell in love with. As you can imagine, I’m over the moon to be sharing some champagne cocktails and entertaining/party tips and tricks with you! So a few things about me: I love hilarious things, Italian food, wine and champagne. I always thought champagne was a luxury, but now...

End Of Summer, Easy Layered Dessert

Now that I am back under my own roof it's nice to be back in the kitchen again. I really missed cooking for my friends and family! In fact, over Labor Day, I thought I would sneak in one more nod to those delicious berries that mark the season before summer is officially gone. Sob. So, I decided to adapt this recipe that I found on Pinterest and make an easy layered dessert. The end result was a quick, festive dessert that tasted pretty darn good too if I don't say so myself. Just make sure to double...

Dessert Dishin’: Juicy Peach Galette

I have quite a love for creating cakes adorned with sugar flowers and dreaming up decadent chocolate desserts, but when it comes to a simple summertime dessert, I find myself gravitating toward fruit, especially peaches. Something about peaches just screams summer to me. I’m talking about the luscious ripe ones so juicy that when you take a bite, juice runs slowly down your chin. So, what better way to pay homage to the beautiful offerings of fresh fruit at the market, than to bake that fruit right into a pie? Pies can be labor intensive with...

Halloween Treat Bags

For today's quick and easy Halloween project, I made these super simple DIY Halloween treat bags. I'm sure you've noticed that I've been on a holiday craft kick as of late. What can I say? I love quick and easy projects that make it look like I've spent more time on them than I actually have. Haha! And that's just what these Halloween treat bags do. They add an extra detail to, otherwise ordinary, Halloween treats. I have some kiddos in my neighborhood who I especially adore and this is just my way of giving...

Easy Acorn Cookies

acorn cookies

When my friend Di told me about these adorable acorn cookies, we knew it would be a fun cookie project to tackle along with a bottle of wine, hee hee. They turned out so cute and festive for fall and could not be easier.  And as an added bonus, they taste great! To make them, you need Hershey kisses, peanut butter chips, Nutter Butter bite size cookies and black icing preferably in a squeeze tube.  Simply squeeze a dab of icing on each side of the Nutter Butter, place the kiss on one side and the...

Valentine’s Day Chocolate Chip Cookies

Who doesn't love a good chocolate chip cookie?  I mean really, I don't think there is a person on this planet who can resist them. I've been making them from scratch since I was a little girl and even have the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag memorized.  I remember one night several years ago when Floyd and I were still dating and we decided to have a low key night in. I asked if he wanted cookies, he of course said yes, and I started taking out the ingredients from my cupboards.  I...

Pecan Chocolate Biscotti, A Holiday Treat

Pecan Biscotti

In addition to all the usual tempting holiday cookies and treats, this year my Mom and I decided to make pecan chocolate biscotti to enjoy with our morning cup of coffee.  Thankfully she is here for a few weeks over the holidays, helping as we adjust into sleepless nights with Jake. This pecan chocolate biscotti recipe that we (mostly she) doctored up was pretty easy and the pay-off was great.  We have been loving this cookie and even finding ways to sneak it in again later in the day!  It's pretty enough to wrap up and...

Mini-Cupcakes with Strawberry Frosting

This weekend I had a Sandra Lee Semi-homemade moment.  I was headed to a little shindig for my friend, Di's, B'day and really didn't want to show up empty handed.  But with only an hour or so on my hands, I couldn't spend the time I might have under more pre-planned circumstances. I decided on festive mini-cupcakes using a Pillsbury chocolate devil's food cake mix with homemade strawberry frosting.  They turned out delicious and the mini-cupcakes meant the kids could have one without parents worrying about sugar overload. And here's a little secret.  The mix made...

Pesto Penne, Dinner All Grown-Up

It has been a few weeks since I've posted any kitchen concoctions which means that I have not been whipping up anything fun for a while. With work and travels getting in the way, it has been too many late night grilled cheese dinners. Well, last night I decided it was time to get back in there and give it a go. But, being a week night it still had to be quick. I mean, with the #WeAreFaashion twitter party and an episode of Glee to watch I had a full...
