Champagne Saturday: Getting Cozy

Happy weekend! While Kristin is off in Philly having a glam filled girls weekend (hey ladies!!) here in Annapolis things are pretty low key.  I have some baking, shopping and decorating to do and tomorrow night it's a Hanukkah dinner with friends. Last night I had a few glasses of vino with dinner, so this morning I voted against the bubbly in favor of hot cocoa with loads of marshmallows.  It was the first I've had in ages and it was delish!  Floyd and I have a little Starbucks mug collection from places around the world...

Big Georgia Recap

As you all have probably figured out by now (unless you're just tuning in and if so a big hearty welcome) Kristin and I got together this weekend at her family's vacay getaway in the mountains of north Georgia.  We had a super time and I think we may have to make getting away to the mountains, husband-free for a few days an annual tradition.  Not that we mind the fellas, but it really was great for the two of us to relax in our PJ's sipping on a big ol' bottle of vino each...

Wine Country Inspired Fashion

As I think most of you have heard by now, Meg flew in this weekend to meet me at my fam's vacation home in Clayton, GA and we had a splendid few days filled with blogging, bonding, eating, and of course, imbibing. Speaking of imbibing, on Sunday we went for a little tasting at a local winery called Tiger Mountain Vineyards. Did I mention we had le toddler in tow? That's how us BonBon Rose Girls roll. HA! He actually had quite a  blast racing all around the grounds and the owners couldn't have been sweeter...

A Weekend Getaway Full of Fashion, Food & Fun

Did you enter our giveaway for a $50.00 gift certificate to Ruche? As most of you know, the hubs and I set off for a mini getaway to Syracuse, NY this past weekend. His bestie, I'm sure he would love that I called him that, got hitched and they couldn't have chosen a more perfect weekend to do so. The weather was beyond gorgeous and the explosion of fall colors that the changing leaves lent to the setting were spectacular! Now, I know why so many people plan their weddings in the fall! Check out the...

Make Your Own Rosette Pins!

Quick and easy.  Now that's my kind of DIY project!  A few weeks ago when I was in New York City, I was staying near Bryant Park and this shop sign across the street caught my eye. It read M&J Trimming and was huge.  I of course had to stop in and was immediately stumbling around open mouthed just gaping.  Before me was every type of ribbon you could imagine!  Row upon row filled to the brim with spools of gorgeous ribbon, buttons, sequins, feathers...

Getting Lost in Virginia Wine Country

When my friend Angie suggested a day in Virginia's wine country for her birthday I was all in! I mean what could be better than celebrating by spending a summer day together in the beautiful Virginia countryside tasting wine? Did I mention that one of the wineries was named Unicorn Winery?! Cue the rainbows and butterflies and I promise it does not get any better! Joni (that gorgeous tall red head below) offered to be our DD and with her boyfriend and Angie's husband in tow, we loaded up a rented mini-van, popped in...

Tanzanian Safari, the Adventure of a Lifetime

It's been almost two weeks since I've been back from Tanzania which means this post is long overdue. It's just so hard to put into words such an amazing experience and I am still pinching myself in disbelief that I was given the opportunity to explore such a place! Hopefully, between my words and Floyd's photos, I can share a fraction of the beauty. I left off last week with our day trip to Zanzibar, and for those like me who are not well versed in African geography, I've inserted a map (and who knows, this...

Zanzibar! Something Worth Writing About….and a Giveaway!

Happy Friday! It's been a few days and I've almost recovered from my two weeks in Tanzania, minus the giant piles of mail and laundry that I'm purposely ignoring. One of the great places we were able to visit while we were away was Zanzibar. Who knew that the island was only a cheap 20 minute flight away?! Clearly I need a geography refresher! We were only able to squeeze in one day, but oh what a day! From our little "puddle jumper" window we were able to see the coral reefs that surround the island...

Africa: A Lifetime of Lessons Learned in Two Weeks

Helloooo my dahlings! You might not have realized, but I have been long gone for the past two weeks and I am so thrilled to be back among you that I want to give everyone a big ol' bear hug! You know, the kind where you are squeezed so tight that you can barely breathe. Consider yourself hugged! A huge thank you to all our dear guest bloggers and to Kristin who had to hold down the fort solo. Knowing our readers were in such safe hands allowed me to relax and have that extra...
