Why hello there! I went and did it again and completely fell off the radar. Over the past week and a half I’ve had visits from literally my entire immediate family, which has meant a lot of fun and relaxing time together. It may seem strange, but knowing that this might be one of the last times I spend with them before becoming a mom myself has made me want to cherish their visits even more and make the most of every minute. After all, there’s no diapers to change just yet! So here’s the recap:
First up was my Mom and her husband, Frank. We had a great time and the first night in town made it to a Nationals’ baseball game. Here I am with Ashley, Mom and Shelby.
Later in their visit we decided to check out some of Maryland’s wineries. I had heard great things about Boordy Vineyards and at only an hour and 15 minutes away it was an easy little day trip. And while I may not have been able to indulge, I did manage to score a case of great wine for the after party of this bambino’s arrival!
We next went down the road to DeJon Vineyard. This winery is still in its infancy but apparently a few of their wines, including “Sweet Denise”, were a hit.
After Mom and Frank’s visit, it was time for a little head banging. My brother Grant was in Baltimore playing with his band Underoath. It was a great show, and catching up beforehand was even better!

To cap off all the family visits, my Dad came to celebrate a milestone birthday. In addition to some great food and Harry Potter, we also took him sailing. With Floyd as Captain, we figured this was enough adventure to ring in 65!
So that’s what I’ve been up to. How about you guys? Anyone out there enjoying some summer fun and making memories with the fam? Do share!
