How we chose the lil’ lady bean’s name…
Several years ago, the hubs and I saw a Jennifer Garner movie that would come to be very important to us. Not only was it a fabulous flick, but the main character’s name in the movie was one that we were instantly drawn too. We weren’t even married yet. In fact, we were just newly engaged. That didn’t stop us from dreaming about the kiddos we would surely have in the future and we knew that the name from that movie would be our daughter’s name someday!
We were all ready to use it four years ago when we found out we were expecting the dude. That went out the window, however, when we learned he was a boy. Our lil’ lady bean’s name is actually heard more often as a boy’s name, but we loved it for a girl, so back in the vault it went.
We were elated that a girl was on the way this time around! We were finally going to get to use the name! Sure, we’ve gotten some strange looks when we’ve shared the name with people, but, I must say, it hasn’t really bothered us. We adore it and that is all that matters. The name isn’t so outlandish that she’ll be made fun of, but it’s not something you hear every day.
As you regular readers of ours know, I haven’t used the dude’s name on la blog and I’ll continue that trend by referring to our daughter as the lil’ lady bean from here on out. I know…I know…I’m such a tease. Haha!
Now that she’s finally here, it’s time we get her birth announcements in the mail! I had the opportunity to design her announcement with Cardstore.com and I just love how it turned out! They had plenty of lovely options, so much so that I had trouble narrowing my choice down to one. I did finally decide on one and it was easily customized with my lil’ lady bean’s birth information and a photo from her newborn shoot!
Cardstore.com provided us with the perfect announcement to introduce our daughter to the world and show off the name we love more and more every day!
So, those that’s the story of how I decided on my baby’s name. How did you decide on your baby’s name? Or do you have a great story on how your parents decided on your name?
