We hope you all are planning a great long weekend, complete with Memorial Day celebrations and patriotic party recipes. In addition to it being a special day to remember those who have died while serving this country, it also tends to be the unofficial kick-off to summer. I just love how the whole country seems to take the day to spend with family and friends!
Our family will be headed to the quaint hometown parade with friends in the morning. Then for the afternoon we will relax and spend time outside, weather permitting. Of course there will be lots of food, it is a three day weekend after all. So, if you’re like me and trying to come up with something celebratory and patriotic to share, here are three of our favorite past Red, White and Blue dishes.
1. Easy baked brie with strawberries and blueberries is an easy appetizer served best with crackers.
2. This tempting trifle is always a hit and one of my favorite go-to recipes to bring to picnics. It can be served in one large bowl or divided into individual serving dishes. Yum!
3. A layered dessert that is as pretty as it is delicious! The best part is that it really is beyond easy. Perfect for someone who wants to feel patriotic but not spend all day in the kitchen!
