It is officially sweater weather here in Maryland. And while it hasn’t been unbearably cold (yet!) sweaters are in full rotation. I needed a few new sweaters this season and am in the middle of going through and seeing what should be donated and what to keep. But I knew it was time for a few staples like this chunky cream sweater that I picked up at Loft on Cyber Monday.
On this particular day over our holiday break, I went from running errands to adventure hunter in no time flat. I love the texture of this chunky cream sweater and I always think that a bright cream looks so fresh.
I’m a firm believer in making sure my boys get LOADS of fresh air. We have a small section of woods behind our home that is part of our neighborhood, complete with a thin trickling creek that is just perfect for throwing stones, poking sticks at rocks, and of course attracting wildlife. I like to have warm sweaters for all of us on hand that work to pair with boots for our nature tromps through the woods.
These Born boots from J. Jill are perfect for these days too. They have enough grip and are very comfortable. I have yet to try a Born shoe that isn’t just beyond comfortable. The nice part is that these are also stylish enough to look great while running errands and grabbing coffee around town.
My H&M skinny jeans are also a staple right now. They have so much stretch in them that they are perfect for these play days. And if someone somehow snags them they are low cost enough not to worry. Here’s looking at you kids!
Right now my hair is unusually long for me. I was really late for my last my hair appointment and had to choose between cut or color. Um color for sure! Which means I’m now rocking really long hair. Watch out Rapunzel, you have some competition on your hands. I’ve been having fun with it though and wearing it in buns and braids like this side braid. It’s nice to change it up a bit, even if unintentional.
Here’s to having some more outdoor fun in my chunky cream sweater before Mother Nature kicks in with freezing temperatures again!
