Mohawk Spring Home Tour

With each new season I always find myself wanting to refresh my home’s decor a bit. And that urge has kicked into overdrive this particular spring because I recently moved into a new home. So, let’s just say that I’m still fully in the decorating stage. My previous home had a more contemporary vibe that didn’t lend itself well to my young family. When we moved to this house I knew that I wanted to insert farmhouse elements and make our space cute, cozy and, most importantly, family friendly. This distressed farmhouse table was one of our first purchases. I immediately fell in love with its rustic feel and have had so much fun dressing it up with different centerpieces, linens and whatnot.

Now most of our home is open concept, so the living room and dining room is a shared space. In the past, I tried to bring in turquoise from the living room furniture into the dining by using it in my tablescape, but that wasn’t quite enough. Enter Mohawk and my super soft new area rug. It’s from Mohawk’s Prismatic collection and it was just the finishing touch I needed to tie the two areas together. I didn’t know how much my dining room needed an area rug until I laid it down.

My new rug defines the space so much better than just having the table floating there solo. And I was easily able to bring in some more pops of color with colorful braided placemats and tassel napkin rings that I “made” from wine charms. Everything looks so much more cohesive now. Area rugs really do anchor a room and I can tell I’ll be loving this one for years to come! In case you were wondering…My rug is kid friendly and pet friendly thanks to it being stain resistant. And it’s totally pet approved too in cse you were wondering. Bwah!

More Spring Decor Style

And today we are giving you TWO before and afters! Kristin showed you hers and now it’s my turn. Megan here, and while I’ve been in our current home for four years, now that we no longer have a baby in the house decorating is once again top of mind. These past few years we have had little ones home all day. Now that we are getting out of that stage, this TV room needs an update. Forts still happen but not as a daily occurrence and I’m ready to feel more at ease in my space.

Mohawk Flooring Before

This is the before of my very worn out TV space. Isn’t this room just screaming for some love?! Thankfully, with the Mohawk rug and a coffee table switch out the room is feeling much more presentable!

We are all loving the cheerful pop of color this Mohawk rug provides. The coffee table which we had in storage is great for our nightly board games. Even Max and his favorite fuzzy guy agree that while the room may look more grown up, it feels softer and cozy to his cute toes!

It is amazing how much the right rug pulls together a room. And, I am a sucker for Farmhouse decor.

We had a Mohawk rug in one of our rooms a number of years back. It didn’t cost much and held up very well for the time we had it.
