I love decorating my home for each and every season…I bet I’m not alone. Who wants some tips for how to warm up your space for fall? I knew you would. I’m loving decorating for this fall, in particular, because we’ve been making some big changes around our house. We’ve lived here a little over a year now and, while I did add some seasonal touches last year, we had just come off of the mania that was Hurricane Irma so I wasn’t really able to delve into fall decorating quite as much as I wanted to. This year I’m all in baby! And since we decided to go with a rustic look for our new flooring that’s about to be put in, more on that later, I’ve been working on putting together a cozy, warm feeling space befitting of a modern, rustic, farmhouse kinda vibe! And to that point I’ve been using a lot of neutral hues. In fact, one of my latest neutral home decor finds has been one of my favorites. Let’s talk about window treatments shall we?
How to Warm Up Your Space
You may remember the cellular shades I shared last week. After getting those installed, it really became evident to me how much fresh window treatments could add to a room. That was proven in spades when we hung our new Laura Ashley ready made curtains. The awning stripe print is casual enough to be at home in a rustic space, but classic enough to dress up the room. And the curtains just so happen to go perfectly with all the colors of fall we love. Think about shades like pumpkin, burgundy and moss…You can’t go wrong when pairing them with natural hues. Yes, you could say my Laura Ashley curtains were made for fall! I actually used all those shades in my mantle decor too. And you can find more of them on my couch in throw pillows that I picked up from Lorena Canals (pssst they’re washable), as well as on my kitchen table in a tiered fall centerpiece!
More Fall Decor Inspiration
So, in conclusion, there are a couple of different ways that I recommend you try to warm up your space for fall. First, make sure you have the right window treatments to evoke a cozier feel. I can’t believe I waited so long to hang some of my own. It was probably because I loved all the natural light the sliders brought in, but by simply hanging decorative curtains that I tied back with rope tiebacks, I got the best of both worlds…I got light AND a more finished looking space. And all that came from ready made curtains. You don’t have to go the custom route to really change the look of your room. There are beautiful ready made curtains out there, like the ones you can find from Laura Ashley, that will do wonders for your space. And don’t forget to look to fall leaves for color inspiration. All the shades you would typically see when you’re out for a stroll on a crisp fall day are just what you need to warm up your home!
