Sometimes there is nothing more relaxing then escaping it all for a Mother-Daughter getaway. I have an awesome mama, so taking time together to unwind is a truly welcome treat. She does a lot for us as a family and I also work a lot, so having uninterrupted time is rare. Which is why I was thrilled to explore The Inn at Chesapeake Bay Beach Club with her. After two days it was clear why this is the perfect Mother-Daughter getaway on the Chesapeake.
The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club sits just over the bay bridge in Maryland. I’d heard that it was a lovely hotel and spa and I knew a lot of folks in the DC area seek it out as a premiere wedding destination. After hitting the road, we did a little shopping at the nearby outlets and enjoyed happy hour on the water at nearby Hemingway’s.
Then we checked-in and instantly saw why people rave. The space is lovely and the Chesapeake Bay views are gorgeous. Even on a hazy day like this one the water still looked so inviting!
The decor is a gorgeous upscale farmhouse style. From a wide front porch filled with rocking chairs to surprise garden nooks, there is so much to explore and delight. There was also a cute shop inside filled with seaside themed items and a market that stocked delicious coffee, wine, sandwiches and the best homemade pies you could even imagine.
We stayed in the Sunset Suite and again we were delighted with how cute and spacious it was. We spent a good hour just relaxing on the balcony talking before dinner. I love those slow moments where we can unwind! The amenities were lovely and if it had been chilly we even had a fireplace ready for us. (Note: I definitely plan on coming back again in the winter!)
Dinner at Knoxie’s Table
For dinner we headed down to Knoxie’s Table located within the Inn. The decor is upscale rustic and really cute. The menu is inspired by the Chef’s Garden on site and the local waterman of the Bay. It was amazing and I ate every single bite! It’s no small feat to impress a local with your crab cake and wow, I was beyond impressed!
And speaking of the Chef’s Garden, how adorable is this? There are rows of cute herbs and veggies that you can meander through. It’s such a pretty setting and inspired me for my own garden. I mean just look at those pretty lettuce rows!
The Spa, Chesapeake Bay Beach Club
After a night of good food, wine and catching up, the next morning we were lucky to explore the spa. It was a serene space and once you check-in and get in your robe, there is a pretty room with a nice fireplace to relax in. Teas, infused waters and little nibbles are at your disposal while you unwind to music that sets the spa mood.
I chose the 50-minute facial. I hadn’t had a facial in a few years and wow, I forgot how relaxing a good facial can be! My skin was glowing afterward and I was happy I had the time to give my face a little pick-me-up. My Mom tried the 50-minute massage and stated that it too was a great massage. What a fun way to spend the morning together!
Overall this was the perfect mother-daughter getaway on the Chesapeake. From relaxing to bay views and catching up over a long dinner, it felt like a luxury to have the time together and unwind. I can’t wait to take Floyd back to The Inn at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club next for a little weekend couples trip.
