I’m super excited to announce that we have a new guest beauty editor! Our high school chum Annelis Diaz is a makeup artist and she’ll be dropping in from time to time to share her beauty know how with us. Annelis attended the Neiman Marcus Shoe and Handbag Soiree with me and she was good enough to test out an amazing product that we received for participating in a super cool promotion that the store is having!
I’m not sure about you, but I appreciate a good scavenger hunt ESPECIALLY if it involves fashion! Neiman Marcus stores are currently having their first ever mobile scavenger challenge through the SCVNGR app. Just download it onto your Android or iPhone and, voila, you will be taken on an interactive adventure throughout the store and earn fabulous surprises along the way!
Thanks to the help of Kimberly Macaluso, PR for Neiman’s Tampa Bay, one of our stops on our adventure led us the Le Metier De Beaute cosmetics line. Marchesa has paired with this line to create makeup as exclusive and amazing as their gowns. The line includes highly pigmented shadows to foundation that feels like cashmere. We were given a sleek and compact eyeliner-“Night Sky” packaged in chrome.
I absolutely love the delicate shade of black that has just a hint of shimmer. This eyeliner is a MUST HAVE for spring. Not only does it glide on effortlessly, but it does NOT need sharpening! That’s right!!…Toss out your old eye pencils and get yourselves one of these gems.
Just remember these tips when applying your eyeliner:
1) Begin at the center of your eye (that way it doesn’t end up too thick in the inner corners).
2) Apply the eyeliner as close to your lash line as possible. (You shouldn’t see any space between the liner and your lashes).
3) Line the entire upper lid! If you like, line the top and bottom. (Never line the bottom only as that attracts attention to your under eye area).
This scavenger hunt ends April 10th, 2011, so do your best to throw on your espadrilles, grab your gal pals, and hit your nearest Neiman Marcus store to participate before it’s too late!
