I’m so excited to share pictures of our new deck. After years of first city condo living and then awkward pavers it is such a lovely treat to have an outdoor space that is relaxing and worthy of entertaining friends. We agonized over all the details (and by “we” I really mean Floyd) and are just so happy with the final result. I wish I could say this was a DIY project but let’s face it, a deck is way outside our pay grade. Below are the before and afters. And, yes, we made a twig outline of where we thought the new deck would land. We’re cool like that!
That empty planter next to the grill has rosemary and basil seedlings ready to sprout any minute!
Once the deck was in place, the next step was furniture. I decided that I wanted to be able to hang out and relax more than I wanted to be able to serve dinner at a formal table. I tend to be a bit of a nerd who likes to read outdoors so I envisioned myself sipping wine and reading books all summer long while lounging outside. Or coming home and chilling out while talking about our days. So for us we knew a couch would be perfect. But I also wanted to tap my inner granny and have a rocker, so when we found this set at Sam’s Club with two glider chairs we were sold!
Now I just have one question for you? Who’s ready for a glass of wine on a nice summer night on the new deck?! Come on down!
