Valentine’s Day Style with J. Jill

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, the hubs and I are pretty laid back. We don’t usually go to a fancy restaurant simply because it can be so darn hectic and crowded on February 14th. So, we typically do something fun with the kids or go a more casual route if we do head out alone. We even stay in sometimes. That doesn’t mean I don’t like to wear something pretty for my honey however…

So, when J. Jill challenged us, along with Audrey from Mom Generations, Jo-Lynne from Jo-Lynne Shane’s Blog and Cyndi from Walking in Grace & Beauty,  to style a Valentine’s Day look, I knew that I would be focusing on a casual chic vibe for my outfit. And as soon as I entered the store, my eye was drawn to their lovely Paisley Button-Front Shirt. Sure, it has pops of red in it, so it’s totally Valentine’s Day appropriate, but it the lovely spring print that will transition quite nicely to the upcoming season making it the perfect piece to pick up toward the end of winter.

Next I focused on finding a fitted bottom to balance out my relaxed top. You’re not going to believe what I chose…Yep, I went for WHITE jeans, AKA the Authentic Fit Slim Ankle Jeans! I’ve never subscribed to the no white after Labor Day rule, so I had no issue there and since spring weather will be here very soon in Florida, these jeans will be getting regular play in no time. So, I thought…Why not get a jump on things and rock them now? Plus, my bright red Ferragamo pumps really pop against white. Just sayin’. Haha!

I finished off my look with Everyday Elements Sculpted Hoops. A pair of simple gold hoops always make for a good jewelry staple in any girl’s wardrobe…Am I right?

So, now that you’ve seen my Valentine’s Day style, head on over to my Valentine’s Day style challenge partners to see what they put together!

  1. this whole outfit is so cute, but it looks comfortable too. Loving the little red shoes – nice touch.

  2. I do love that outfit! As for wearing white in the winter–I live in NY–think of mud splatters and icy slush and you will know why I do not wear white until Spring has sprung!

  3. Just beautiful. I love the print on the shirt and the pop of red in the shoes. Thanks so much for sharing… you look amazing.
