There are a few pieces that every woman should have in her closet in my book. The little black dress typically comes to mind first for it’s versatility, but there is another piece that can play just as big a role in your wardrobe….And that, lovelies, is the trench coat. Just like little black dresses, trench coats can be dressed up and down with ease and their perfect neutral hue goes with everything! I actually found a trench that goes with even MORE than your every day trench. CAbi’s Casablanca Trench coat is made out of a ponte fabric that has a dressier look than the standard cotton. It would look just fabulous over a party dress of course, but, as you can see, I went the more casual route with mine and it still works.
One feature that I really love about this coat is that there are no belt loops. So, you can really switch up its look. I’ve worn mine closed with the self tie, open and even belted. An animal print belt looks awfully fierce with the beautiful camel color. Just sayin’. And you can literally pair any other color with it. I stuck to mostly neutrals, but I would definitely rock it with bold colors too.
For today’s featured look, I went the mixed prints route and styled my Casablanca Trench with a ginhgam shirt and leopard print heels. Turquoise statement rings finished things off. It’s a simple, yet chic outfit that would be perfect for date night. Quick…Someone tell my hubs to plan one. Haha! Seriously though, I can’t wait to wear this powerhouse piece more. While it’s not a super heavy coat, it’s actually quite warm enough for our Florida winters, so you Northern friends of ours could definitely get away with it if you aren’t walking around all night in the cold.
