Long Lasting Makeup Tips
We’re still in the throws of summer and with these rising temps, you’ll need some assistance to keep that makeup from sliding off your face and we’ve got you covered! Check out these simple steps to long lasting makeup along with some of our favorite products.
Step One:
Prep your skin by cleansing with your favorite product. (At the moment we’re crushing on Yes to Blueberries Age Refresh Facial Towelettes because they’re so simple and handy to use. Just wipe and go!)
Step Two:
Apply Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (or your favorite primer) with a foundation brush to ensure even application. (About a pea sized amount will do for the entire face.)
Why We Love It: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer will prep your skin for the summer heat by creating a matte finish. Not only is it great for oily skin, but it smooths the appearance of any fine lines and imperfections.
Step Three:
Apply the BB cream with a foundation brush using downward strokes.
Why We Love It: We are so in love with Bobbi’s BB cream formula for summer because it’s lightweight and non-greasy. Another added bonus is that it’s a moisterizer, SPF 35 and foundation all in one.
Step Four:
Apply Makeup Forever powder using a powder puff. For best results, pour a small amount of powder onto a tissue, then press the powder puff onto the tissue. This will ensure you have an even amount of powder on your puff. Lightly press the powder puff onto your face, especially focusing on the T-zone area.
Why We Love It: This powder is super finely milled and keeps your makeup in place. Another added benefit is that it keeps makeup looking great in photos!
To avoid a cakey look: When you become sweaty in this sweltering heat, BLOT, BLOT, BLOT! (Never apply powder directly to sweaty skin as this will create a cakey look.) Some of our favorite blotting papers are Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers and Clean & Clear Oil Absorbing Sheets.

Having clean skin before application of any makeup makes a world of difference. Using quality makeup also helps it last longer.
Love smash box primer.. I use it under my moisturizer for a even look. Right now I’m crushing on Juleps bareface rose hip cleaner :). It’s amazing!!
