Fall Sports Prep with CVS

It’s October and you know what that means…School is in full swing as is the fall sports season. As someone who’s spent more than a few years as Team Mom, I’ve learned that the key to a successful season is, of course, hard work on your little athlete’s part, but also preparation from the parents. Even if you aren’t married to the coach like moi, having a sports kit on hand will come in handy…trust me. Not only will you feel good about being ready for whatever the season may throw at you, but you just may become very popular with the coaching staff too. They love it when they can focus more on the field and less on boo boos or the munchies. On that note, let’s talk fall sports prep and what you should stock your sports kit with…Did I mention that you can conveniently find it all at CVS?

First aid must haves
Antibiotic ointment and bandages are a given right? There is bound to be a scraped knee or ten (ha!) at some point. We love how the CVS Health brand Anti-Microbial Silver Wound Gel comes in single dose packets and the pump style dispenser of the Triple Antibiotic Ointment is awfully handy too. But you can also go a step further with your first aid prep and add athletic tape and itch relief spray to the mix too. I can tell you that my husband, a former pro and now Little League coach, relied on my athletic tape stash a time or two. Think about the whole crew when you’re putting together your kit…kiddos and coaches alike! I even put sunscreen in mine. No matter what the weather’s like outside, those rays can penetrate everyone on the field and in the stands.

Most teams assign a parent to bring in a snack each week, but little sluggers might not be able to make it to the end of the game before they need to nosh. I always make sure that I have easy to eat snacks like Gold Emblem Abound raisins and fruit snack bars ready in case I see a team member’s energy start to dip. You can totally see it on my son’s face when he needs to eat something…and he needs to eat something NOW!

No matter what sport your child plays, one thing is a given, things tend to get messy! Cleansing wipes are perfect for those quick after game cleanups before you let your player enjoy his after game snack or before you take the team out to dinner. At the very least they’ll at least do the trick until you can get those wee ones good and sudsy in the shower!

Now as I mentioned, I filled my fall sports kit with goodies that I found at CVS. If you haven’t downloaded the CVS Pharmacy App yet, you’re missing out. So, stop everything and do that now. Haha! Once you’re done, make sure you also get your ExtraCare Rewards Number and set up CVS Pay so you have everything in one place in one handy dandy app when it comes time to check out. You’ll save yourself both money AND time which is a very precious commodity. That is something all us sports parents know right? We definitely don’t have time to spare, especially in the fall! And to up the convenience factor even more, why not opt for Curbside Pickup? You can learn all about why we love it HERE.

Disclosure: I’m proud to be working with CVS Pharmacy to help spread the word about #BetterHealthMadeEasy and how to #FindYourHealthy. All opinions expressed are my own, and all product claims or program details shared should be verified at or with the appropriate manufacturers.

I am with you. We are full on with cheer and basketball and cross country starts later this month. This is a great kit and a good reminder to me to update mine.

My teen is not playing sports anymore but we are trying to work on our fitness. I need to hit up my CVS to suck up on supplies for when we are pushing ourselves and forget that we don’t all have to be Serena Williams as we work out.

I love the idea of a sports kit for the kids. My oldest loves playing sports and sometimes injuries come along with it. This would guarantee I have everything I need on hand when I need it.

This is such a good idea. I was team mom for my kids’ sports teams for years when they were younger and, boy, could I have used one of these kits!

That’s a great kit to have handy. When they’re older and into sports, they can carry their own in the trunk of their cars!

Great idea! My kids don’t play sports but it’s always a good idea to have many of these on hand. I like to keep a kid with supplies in the car. You never know when a kiddo will get hurt and you’ll need to have this stuff on hand.
