Monday Mingle: Wardrobe Basics

We each have those go-to pieces in our closet that we wear all the time and can be styled a million different ways right? Well, for me, one of those wardrobe basics is the classic v-neck tee. I buy them from Target in bulk. No joke. When I went to Europe last winter I literally went to Target and bought ten new black v-necks because they’re the perfect layering piece. To put things in perspective, I also have a poncho addiction and the two play together so well. If you looked at my outfits from that trip you’d see various renditions of the v-neck / poncho combo in spades. Haha!

Now that it’s spring, my v-necks are coming out to play even more. I have a rainbow of colors beyond the black that dominated my Euro trip, but one color that gets worn more than the rest is grey. It goes with every color under the sun and I can’t seem to quit it. In fact, I styled on of my grey v-necks with my new favorite slim boyfriend pants (which are on sale by the way) from J. Jill along with some grey classic Supergas sneakers. If v-necks and ponchos were my winter uniform, v-necks and boyfriend pants or shorts seem to be my spring one.

And I can’t talk about the perfect tee without mentioning what always has to go underneath it. A comfortable, great fitting bra is worth its weight in gold. I love the Vanity Fair Flattering Lift Bra in nude. Not only is it super supportive, but you it looks seamless under my lightweight tee!

To finish off this casual, errand running ready spring look, I just needed to add are a simple accessory or two like some beaded bracelets and a pair of sunnies and I’m good to go.
