Flares Are the New Black

So, seventies style is here and it’s here to stay. You won’t hear any complaining from me. After a few years of ignoring most pants and denim silhouettes save for skinnies, I’m embracing wide legs and flares. It’s time they get the attention they’re due! I’m particularly loving this menswear inspired look from The Row’s Pre Fall 2011 collection. It’s crazy sexy no? I can so see Bianca Jagger rockin’ it back in the day!

I was looking at Gap’s Spring Lookbook at all the flares & ASOS’s 70s styles & must say that I’m excited about it! I think it’s going to be a fun look for this spring & summer. Bring on the flares!

I had pants just like that in the seventies! One time I was wearing a pair and riding a bicycle and one of the pants legs got caught in the chain. It wasn’t too good for the pants or the chain. I looked good, though!

This made me really happy. I miss flares. A lot. My closet is full of skinny jeans, but I have recently been craving some classic flared jeans. Yay!
Lovin’ all of these hip wide legged pants. I like my skinny jeans, but I am so happy to see this trend make a comeback. I love to wear my dress pants a bit… flowy…!!

When did they go out of style? Ha, just kidding. I have always liked them and I think more body types can wear them than the skinny jeans.

I love flare jeans. The really big flares are my guilty pleasure, but I don’t wear them often unfortuantely! I think they somehow make me look taller for some reasone?! I’m loving these subtler ones though!

I am so excited to change it up with some flares. I wore some hip hugger bell bottoms today and felt wildly fabulous. It’s probably because I’ve been wearing my skinnies for a lonnnng time now!

Heck yes! I’ve actually always loved the wide legged trousers, and flare jeans bring me back to middle school and high school, always been a fan:-)

YEAH!!! I’m so happy they are back!! I’ll admit I’ve been rocking out in flares for a while. My body type is a lil weird so they always made my legs look fabulous. My thighs are big but my calves & shins are skin & bone not sure why no weight goes there but the flares even me out! Yeah I’ll be fashion forward…=P

Flares are so flattering but I think I prefer in other fabrics instead of jeans though, like linen or cotton and high-waisted! 🙂 xoxoxoo

Think that since I wore them the first time around (as in the 70’s…), I probably shouldn’t try it this time around. A little harder to pull off with a few too many decades on the bod–literally and figuratively:). Have fun with them.
I don’t think I can ever do flare again. Perhaps bootcut, but never wideleg or flare!!! (Says the girl that said the exact same thing about skinnies a few years ago…go figure!)
I love the flared trend. It’s one of my favourite trends this season. I’ve dug up my old flared jeans now as well.
I hope I didn’t get rid of my flare jeans, I better start digging through my closet! I’m ready for a change, flare jeans are much more flattering on women than the skinny jeans 🙂

I’m giving the flare a lukewarm reception. While they are great on super skinny model types, they are rough on the petite crowd and look horrible with flats.
I feel ya on the flats. I’ll be wearing mine with heels for sure! How do you feel about wide legs. I bought a pair of Michael Kors bad boys that I need to bust out soon!
I have a pair of Gap flare leg jeans I bought last year not knowing they were flare and I rarely wear them because I’m kind of on the fence about it–but, I guess it looks like I should bust them out soon!

Flares intimidate me. I love them on other {tall} people, but never on myself because I’m so short. Can’t wait to see an outfit post with you and the flares though.
