Who is loving all of the food, drinks and sweets that are happening this time of year? I sure am! I have yet to start baking at home in an effort to not let things get too crazy, but have had plenty of other sinfully tasty treats from friends and co-workers. I just may be eating a pretty iced Christmas Tree cookie as I type…yum! I have no illusions and will happily hit the gym even harder come January. #WorthIt
This time of year also gets me excited to shake up a real cocktail. There is just something about all those decorations and music that feel great, and having a cocktail in hand to sip on while I cook is perfect!
For those of you who like their drinks not too sweet, this Gingerbread Martini is for you. It still has a little sweetness but also has a bit of a spicy finish. I guess you could say it is both naughty and nice, hee hee.
2 ounces of Irish Cream liqueur (Baileys)
2 ounces of vanilla flavored vodka
2 ounces of butterscotch schnapps
Splash of hot cinnamon schnapps
Place ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour all of the ingredients into shaker. Cover, shake and strain into two martini glasses.
It took me a few tries to get this Gingerbread Martini just right and to my liking. It was easy to let it get too spicy with that hot cinnamon schnapps, but I think this recipe has hit a good balance of flavors. If you try it please let me know what you think! You can message me on any social channel pretty much, promise!
