Living Room Update
Last week I mentioned that I had a few rooms to share some good progress on and today is all about our modern living room. I’ve been working hard at getting this room, just off of the front entry guest worthy. So while I still have a few more touches to add, it’s nice every once in a while to pat yourself on the back and see what you’ve accomplished. Doing these house progress blog posts have made me realize that we have come farther in decorating the house than I ever realized. I just was so focused on the next project I wasn’t taking the time to smell any roses.
So, let’s get down to the modern living room, or in my world the one quiet oasis in our house. Here’s where we started:
You can see it was pretty much a blank slate complete with paint swatch and paper blinds. Then we painted the room a nice svelte sage and boy did it make a difference.
Then I started planning. Here’s a mocked up photo of the dream finished room you might remember from an older post.
And after all that planning here is where we are now.
For the most part we’ve stuck to this plan adding a glass coffee table, mirrors above the couch and even the side table to the right. We also added in wood shutters in this room to really give a casual but classic look. Although I still haven’t found just the right chair for the left, I’ve been keeping my eye out.
So, that’s the progress on the living room. In the meantime, I will continue to keep my eye out for that perfect chair! So, have you made any progress on a project or room without really even realizing it?
