My Florida Style Weekend in Pictures

Well, it’s here again. Another Monday has us in its grasp. Happily, I’m not suffering from the Monday blues this morning as I had such an amazing weekend with my family! Saturday we headed off to the Gasparilla children’s parade and we had a blast watching the dude tear around beautiful Bayshore Boulevard! After the parade we had a cook out over at the ‘rents’Β  house and then headed out for a little fireworks and ice cream action.

On Sunday, my mama took the dude off our hands while the hubs and I headed over to the Chocolate Sunday event. It was a chocolate lover’s paradise and I particularly enjoyed meeting Casey of Casey’s Cookies which is a nonprofit organization designed to promote the independence of disabled adults. Its namesake was thoroughly charming and she jumped right in to answer all my questions, including rattling off all her favorite cookies of which there were many. Now that’s a girl after my own heart!

After we got our chocolate fix, we headed over to downtown Safety Harbor for some BBQ and a stroll by the water. It was a picturesque Florida afternoon and just what two harried parents needed! I’d forgotten how much I missed just hanging out with my handsome husband one on one.

In case y’all are interested in outfit details…I’m rockin’ a LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s blazer, J. Crew and Loft necklaces, a Rachel Leigh gumball ring, Hanes mens tanks, Banana Republic skinny jeans and Aerosoles leopard flats…all of which I snagged from my closet!

Now that I’ve given you a rundown of my weekend, I’d love to hear about yours!

I’m glad you had a nice weekend, and I hope you got plenty of beads. It sure was cold out there. with the wind and cold, I had such a hard time throwing beads to where I wanted them to go, (I’m in the Sirens Krewe.) I loved seeing all the little ones in the crowd screaming for beads, and many in their own pirate costumes. So cute! It was a great warm up to next weekend’s festivities.

I so wanted to go to Chocolate Sunday, but unfortunately, I didn’t make it. sounds like a great time though.

Kids are too cute with ice cream – they always look so darn content!

I’ve been in Miami all weekend! Luckily got out of dodge on the coldest weekend of the season. I wrote about my visit to the zoo. I just can’t get over the fact that people were wearing winter coats in 70 degree weather. Come on! I guess it’s all relative.

That looks like fun and I love your outfits!

I went to the Columbia for dinner for the first time and it was fantastic!

Sounds like you had fun! We’re over in Ft. Lauderdale. I also went to a BBQ with Baby Boy, my sister (JIn), her boyfriend and my hubby. Even though the weather was supposed to be warm, it was rather nippy. LOL We had a great time playing Kinect and just hanging out! Isn’t that what the weekend is about?

Sounds like you had quite the full weekend! I started a textile design course on Saturday, which turned out to be much better than I had anticipated. Otherwise my weekend was filled with some baking, a bit of cleaning and phone calls home.

ps – your son is so adorable!

What a fun weekend! Love your outfit too! And oh my gosh, your sunglasses of course.

I had a fun weekend, my dad was in town so we were busy, busy! But, I scored myself some fab earrings from Anthro, so, that’s always a win in my book.

I love it when Mondays aren’t so bad because the weekend was just TOO awesome. =)

I love these photos. You look beautiful by the way and this Chocolate Sunday event is not going to monopolize my thoughts for the rest of the day. =P

Wow. In Florida you can walk around without a jacket in January. I knew this existed…but every time I see evidence of it I just sigh. Because I want that!

    PS: Cute fam!!

Oh, man! What an amazing weekend, and the little dude looks very content. πŸ™‚ You’re making me long for spring, though. I spent the weekend hibernating.
