Simple and Pretty in Pink DIY Body Scrub

You already know that I love dressing up for my favorite holidays and making special treats to celebrate them. Well, I love using holiday themed beauty products too. The scents, the colors…I just adore everything that goes along with this time of year! It’s just another way to add to the Valentine’s Day fun this time of year!

Seeing as I’m particularly into the conversation heart love (did you catch our conversation heart brownies), I thought it would be a great time to share this pretty in pink DIY body scrub. Because who doesn’t love pink?! 

We’re all about making our own beauty products when we can block out a bit of time and regularly use homemade body scrubs to exfoliate our skin. It’s especially important to get rid of that dry scaly skin in the winter when the weather’s had such a drying effect on it. And did I mention that this scrub is moisturizing to boot? Double score!

 I don’t know about you my friends, but my skin could definitely use an extra dose of hydration right now! So, read on to hear more about how to make your own Valentine’s Day ready DIY body scrub…And if you like that slightly nutty scent almond oil gives off as much as I do, this scrub is definitely for you!

Homemade Body Scrub Tutorial

2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup coconut oil
1/4 cup almond oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup conversation hearts
3 drops Vitamin E oil (optional)

1.  In a medium mixing bowl, add the sugar and both oils. Stir until well blended.
2.   Add the vanilla extract and vitamin E oil (optional) and stir until they’re incorporated.
3.   In a food processor, pulse the conversation hearts almost to a fine powder and add to the scrub. Stir well.
4.   Transfer to an airtight container.

** This exfoliating DIY body scrub will keep for 2-3 months in a sealed container at room temperature.

Just put the scrub in a cute jar, tie a festive ribbon around the lid and you have a perfect Galentine’s Day gift. Or just whip up a batch for yourself.
