Seventies Style Inspired by The Age of Adaline
I had the pleasure of attending the premiere of the new Blake Lively film, The Age of Adaline, with my pal Megan Zietz last night and I can’t begin to describe how gorgeous the costuming was. The film spans nearly eight decades meaning we were treated to loads of glorious style featuring everything from the roaring twenties to modern day. Fashion through the ages…Be still my heart!
As far as my favorite decade goes…I would probably have to go with the seventies. The wide legs, the platform sandals, the wrap dress, the kaftan…I could go on and on. In fact, my outfit for the premiere was seventies inspired. As soon as I saw those white wide leg pants I had to have them. They reminded me of something Bianca Jagger would have worn. Swoon! And they were also the perfect partner for my metallic, go-to spring sandals. I added a little Florida spin to things with a neon flowy top and a kitchy Jonathon Adler straw clutch. You can take the girl out of Florida, but you obviously can’t take the Florida out of the girl. Haha!

So, what was your favorite decade for fashion? Inquiring minds want to know! And if you love fashion as much as I do, The Age of Adaline is for you! Now that you’ve seen what I’ve been wearing, head on over to Momtrends and Thirty Something Fashion to see what looks they’ve been styling! You can link up your own fashionable posts at Momtrends this week.
Disclosure: We were not compensated for this post. We were provided with travel to the premiere.

They always say fashion always circles back. Just wish I kept some of my styles. I need to clean out my mom’s closet and see if there is something there.
I can totally understand why you’d pick the 70’s as your favorite fashion decade. I love the BOHO, hippie look too. A close second for me would be the roaring 20’s and the flapper style though!
I’ve always wanted to be a flapper for Halloween!
Aw you both look amazing. Love the shoes.
What a fun event! I love that straw purse–the little fish are too cute. 🙂 I love the bohemian looks from the ’60s and the gorgeous dresses from the ’20s. I could totally have been a flapper!
I love the double flounce hem on the shirt. It’s a pretty color too, I’d love one of those in my closet.
Blake is such a timeless Beauty and a perfect fit for this role. You ladies are always so stylish without even trying

I don’t know about this movie. I have never heard of it. However, if the style is anything like that outfit you have on, it’s bound to be good!
Although I was very, very young when they were around, I do love the seventies, too! I love a lot of the music of that era. Lynyrd Skynyrd and Fleetwood Mac remain two of my favorite bands!
